Tsunami Disaster Appeal.
After the F.M.C. race, Cork B.H.A.A. made a presentation of €1,000 from its funds to the Red Cross Tsunami Disaster Appeal. Kevin Cummins, on behalf of the Cork BHAA, praised the great work which the Red Cross is engaged in, particularly in the days and weeks  following the tragic events of December 26th, in the devastated areas in Asia.
Responding for the Red Cross, Alan Batt thanked the
Cork BHAA for their generous contribution. Alan assured the assembled athletes that the Red Cross organisation was there for the long haul and that Cork BHAA's donation would be put to very good use in its relief work in Asia.
The committee of the Cork BHAA , together with Cork athletic clubs and other sporting bodies, assisted with the organisation of the Cork Run for Asia on January 19, 2005, which many of you supported very generously. Well done to Peter Maher and his committee on the work that they did in this event. Further details are available at http://www.runforasia.com
