Race Notification: BHAA Virtual 5k Stage 2

Following on from our first virtual 5k, we are now holding stage 2 of our Virtual 5k series. The race will be held on Wednesday April 15 at 7.30pm but please have your details entered by 8.30pm that evening, the earlier the better.  Entry is free but please consider a donation to Cystic Fibrosis Ireland who should have been out collecting today as part of their 65 Roses campaign. You can donate €4 by texting Fight CF to 50300 or you can donate online on their website. I also notice on their website that they have a virtual 10k in Duleek so these virtual races may become more prevalent!

Details of the race are as before:

You enter using your most recent 5k time or run 5k between now and Wednesday and give us your time. That’s it! Bear in mind, you need to keep to the restrictions laid out by the government

  • Exercise within 2km of your own house and
  • Don’t run with people not from your household.

Please bear in mind that runners are getting a lot of bad press on social media for not giving other pedestrians adequate space. Be mindful of others and try to go safely around them while being aware of traffic. Let’s all stay safe.

If you are not currently running 5k just use your most recent 5k time. We won’t be looking for proof unless you run a world record 5k!

If you haven’t already, you can see how far 2km is from your location on 2km From Home. Further details of restrictions on Gov.ie.

Entries are now closed. Watch out for more virtual races or actual races in the hopefully not so distant future.
