This 5k race has a new route for 2024 due to road works on the Marina. The new route is completely flat so expect a fast 5k time here. The race starts on the railway line walkway which is accessed by passing St Michael’s Church and taking a left onto the Line. The race heads towards Rochestown, over the flyover and then turns left finishing in Blackrock Castle car park.
Registration takes place in Cork Boat Club from 6.30pm which is where the post-race refreshments and prize giving take place. There will also be spot prizes on the night. The race itself starts at 8pm so try to avoid entering too late.
I’m just visiting Cork this week. Can I turn up to register for this race with €10? Do I need anything else?
Hi Carmel, yes you can run as a non-registered runner for €10. Bear in mind you are not eligible for prizes as a non-registered runner though.
Donal
Excellent! Thanks!
Hi do you give medals to finishers?
Hi Jason, no medals, just the glory and tea and sandwiches.
Hi there. Can I register for this race as an NI athletics affiliated athlete. I will be down near Cork on my holidays that week and would like to take part. Thanks
Hi Elizabeth, you can of course. You can enter as a non-registered runner. You just won’t be eligible for prizes.
Hi, what is the course route for the 5k? Have seen a different route advertised than the one above? Thanks
New route has just been added to the race page for 2022.
