Our next race is the Defence Forces 5k this Sunday October 16 at 10.30am in Ringaskiddy. Registrations will take place at Haulbowline Park from 9am with entries costing €5 for registered runners and €10 for non-registered.
This race is a return to the traditional Army/Navy race but there is a new route and new registration area. See notes below from the race organisers:
1. Haulbowline Park will not be available for race parking for safety reasons.
Parking will be provided in the Naval Dockyard (in the Naval Base Barrier and right turn) This will be signposted.
Alternative parking in Paddy Point Amenity at the start of Haulbowline Bridge.
2. Besides the Naval Dockyard car park, the reminder of the Naval Base and Dockyard is a restricted area, and not open to the public.
Personnel are requested to walk to/ the Haulbowline Park directly. See last image below.
3. Naval Dockyard car park opens at 0850. Personnel should not arrive before that time. Paddys Point car park is open 24hrs.
4. Roads and park will NOT be closed to the public.
