It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of Dermot Bates yesterday. Dermot, formerly of the Irish Naval Service and long time runner, contributed greatly to the Cork BHAA as a race organiser, Chairman, Registrar and committee member. In recent years, Dermot would still come to races and always have a smile and a chat with everyone. Cork BHAA wish to express our condolences to Dermot’s family and friends.
