Registration @ 9.30am, Little Island Sports Hall
We don’t normally issue reminders for races but for those of you attending the IFF-Dupont 5k tomorrow, Jan 22nd, we ask that you attend registration as early as possible. This is the first race of the year where the new registrations apply and it is always busy. Each year there are discussions at registration if somebody is not on the registered list which results in delays for everybody. Check for your name on the registered runners list now on our website and send an email to register@corkbhaa.com if you think you should be registered. Thanks for all the early registrations this week. We now have almost 1000 runners registered.
Chip timing
We are introducing chip timing this year and this race is the first test of the system. We will still use the usual tunnels and manual data entry at the finish line for a number of races while we get up to speed with it. We will also demonstrate the equipment at the AGM which takes place next Thursday Jan 26th at 8pm in Silversprings Hotel.
A few things to keep in mind with the chip timing:
- Don’t bend or fold the bib as this may damage the bib tag.
- Don’t cover the bib with your hand at the finish line when you’re stopping your watch. This could stop the bib being registered and it also prevents us seeing your bib on our finish line camera. We would appreciate it if you wait until you’re over the line to stop your watch.
Check out this short video for more info. We will only have chip timing at the finish line and still rely on gun time.
This map of the race is completely uninterpretable. It needs arrows.
Hi Garry,
Go left in the business estate, do one loop, and on the second loop keep going until you reach the half way point of the far side, then take a right to cut across and take a left. Follow the numbers going clockwise.
Kindest regards,
Donal
